Dietitian Services

Plus Size Models

Size Inclusive Care

We practice from a non-diet lens and reject the notion that weight is equal to health. We support all folks, and all bodies.

The Non-Diet Approach

The non-diet approach is the exact opposite of a diet, and shifts the focus to building self-compassion around food and your body. It has shown to improve your relationship with food.

Health At Every Size® (HAES®)

We approach eating, body shape and weight concerns from a Health at Every Size® perspective. We will not encourage and support you to lose weight. Instead, we will encourage and support you to increase health enhancing behaviours, without focusing on the scale.

Eating Disorder Treatment

Eating disorders do not discriminate. They can impact individuals of any age, gender or ethnicity at any time. We see clients of any age who may be struggling with disordered eating or an eating disorder.

Eating Disorders We Support

Collaborative Care

Due to the complexity of eating disorders, we work closely with other members of your care team to ensure safety and optimal outcomes.

Perimenopause

Navigating menopause can feel a bit like puberty all over again. Maddy has lived experience of this, going through an early menopause, and can share her personal and professional knowledge on this topic.

Nutrition and Menopause

There are some simple nutrition and lifestyle changes that can greatly help support your transition into menopause. Maddy can help guide your food intake to set you up well for the next stage of life.

Supplements

Some clients may benefit from nutritional supplements during menopause. Using a food first approach, Maddy will provide guidance on supplements as recommended by evidence.

Neurodiversity Affirming Nutrition

At Flipside Nutrition we take a strengths-based approach when working with neurodivergent clients and their nutrition concerns. We reject the medical model of care that emphasises neuronormativity, ableism and weight stigma.

Different, Not Less

We celebrate and accept all brains. We reject the notion that neurodivergent folks need fixing. We respect these differences, offer support and build capacity in the area of nutrition.

Trauma-Informed

We take great care to provide safety in the relationship, and recognise the significant impact that trauma has on your nervous system, digestion and capacity to feed yourself or others.

Digestive Health

Knowing how to best support your digestive health can be confusing. There are many recommendations available, but these may not be relevant for your unique digestive system. Maddy can tailor the best evidence-based approach to support your digestive health and improve wellbeing.

Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS)

Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) is a functional gut disorder that can cause several unpleasant symptoms. These can include abdominal bloating, cramping, urgency, constipation and diarrhoea. Maddy supports many clients with IBS and has lived experience of juggling her own IBS.

Coeliac Disease

Maddy has a particular passion for supporting folks with coeliac disease. She feels that the right support when first diagnosed can set you up for better health long term.

Kids Nutrition

Transitioning to solid foods can be easy for some, and a struggle for others. Some kids will have heightened senses which can dictate how selective they are with their food. Maddy can help you understand how your child’s senses impact their food choices, and provide solutions.

Fussy Eating

If you are concerned about fussy eaters in your household, you’re not alone. Estimates show that up to one in two children will go through a fussy eating period. It is quite common for young children to exert their independence and refuse certain foods.

Nutrition for Neurodivergent Kids

Maddy is a parent to two neurodivergent kids, she can help support your neurodivergent child’s nutrition.

Rebates and Funding Options

Private Health

Rebates can be claimed for Dietitian consultations if you have appropriate extras cover. Simply submit your receipt for submission to your health fund. Many insurance companies now have apps to make claiming a breeze.

NDIS

From July 2024, Madeleine only sees clients who are self managed with their NDIS funding. Unfortunately the Dietitian fees set by the NDIA have not increased with indexation and are no longer feasible as a sole trader.
